Default Canal Question

So, just how bad is the canal in NE wind (say tomorrow). Passing from BB heading to Barnstable. Iím in a 40 plus sporty but just me and honey and donít want or need drama on the final trip of season.

I assume first thing in the morning? Appreciate thoughts

You will be fine tomorrow morning:

2019-10-26 08:20 EDT -0.22 knots Slack, Ebb Begins
2019-10-26 11:08 EDT -2.85 knots Max Ebb

http://tbone.biol.sc.edu/tide/tidesh...usetts+Current

SAT
N winds 10 to 15 kt with gusts up to 20 kt, diminishing to
5 to 10 kt in the afternoon. Seas around 3 ft.

Not wild about the North wind but with the tide flowing into BB you will be fine......

With the North wind forecast, I don't think you'll have any problem with the canal or exiting into Cape Cod Bay. You didn't say where your trip will be starting from though so the Buzzards Bay part might be a bit rough if you are travelling north for any distance.

There's nothing wrong with over thinking it. More boaters SHOULD be doing that. Lol

Have fun out there!
