any dock suggestions? Close to the action, family activities?

The boat basin is the best but I would just grab a town mooring in new harbor there should be one available I think they are 40 bucks a nite can’t beat it, not sure about the launch hours at this time of year?

I believe the launch service has ended for the year.
perhaps call the marinas, they won’t be busy.

block starts shutting down after LDW

marinas start doing their teardowns

restaurants start shutting down

i dont know if the pump out boat still runs

definitely call ahead to confirm what will be open

there is a one or two page guide/faq on the harbormaster's website, it explains how the mooring field is configured

Town moorings are green and say rental on them also.

It’s September call Old Harbor I bet you can get it. Closer to the beach restaurants etc. Even if you have to raft it would be worth it. Most of the loud drunk crowd is gone this time of year.

If you can get in Old Harbor for sure.

Action? I've stayed out there the weekend after labor day a couple times and the place is dead. Which is why I wait until the weekend after labor day. You will have no problem getting dock space. Just make sure they don't try to charge in-season rate.
