Looking at a combo Bonito/FA and Tog run on Sunday. Will probably launch at either Taylor Point or New Bedford harbor.

Fished Sunday with Tagged Fish out of NJ (mostly C&R with a 1 fish bag ) A little bumpy heading into the S wind to the grounds to say the least.. but once on the anchors there where some fish chewing.. Kinda hard day to fish the jig with the winds, but I hung with it a while and managed to stick a fatty a bit over 9# ..lots of fun on the lighter spinning gear,.. FWIW all the captains I fish with for Tog spread 2 anchors at every drop..

Buzzards Bay is FAC and the white chins are chewing. Get out and get after them, won’t be many more days like this for this season

Went toggin first time ever with my wife.
We got our limit 18-22 inches.
Tossed back another dozen 16-17
Rhodan worked great .
Easy to try a bunch of spots.
Great day on the water with my wife.

Slow start yesterday off Newport but once tide picked up pretty good action all day. Got my limit plus another 32 tog and 1 sea bass. Nothing huge but some nice ones up to maybe 5 lbs.

Went out yesterday and fished Brenton Reef area, 25-30 ft using green crabs on 3/4 oz football jigs. Few 20”-24” but mostly 17”-19” fish but had lots of shorts.

Wifey wanted to do a boat ride Sunday so we took a run to Menemsha. No signs of any topwater activity. Came back to NB via Cuttyhunk and spotted a big Mola about 2 miles off Padanaram. Had the usual prop marks on top.

planned on fishing the reef yesterday but we never left our first spot in lower bay it was non stop on the outgoing. 30 ft was definitely best for us as well we had 2 8lbers on 3 oz jigs as the tide was ripping.

Any updates from Buzzards Bay? I'm hoping to get out on Sunday morning and try and find some of those big bad white chins.

Beautiful day on the water Sunday. Nothing big and bad, but, did manage to put together a nice little cooler of legal fish. Most of the fish were caught when the tide was flowing hardest and only got to fish the incoming. Think we may have done better if we were able to stay out for the drop.

Same here, nothing of great size yet. Still looking for my first double digit of the year, water was 61F where I was fishing about 40ft.

Yesterday 25-30 feet of water RI Shore, very active bite but the keeper to short ratio was kinda humble. Limits yes but the keeper fish were not giants. Not even a little bit boring but not the place to be if your looking to set records......

Fished Sat and Sun. Bite on Saturday was pretty consistent. Lots of shorts but did manage 3 man limit in 5 hours. Sunday was completely different. Same area tons of shorts and only 4 keepers in 6 hours.

I fished yesterday on a local reef (ct) in 40'. 2 guys we caught 3 keepers 17/17/19 in about an hour and a half on rigs, greens and asians, lots of shorts, 2 short seabass. Never had to move an inch and wore long sleeve tee-shirts. Really a perfect day.

Any one care to give a quick tutorial on how to
“double anchor”
I’m thinking one right on marked spot throw anchor right on top,
head up drift throw bow anchor drift back on rock pile
anchor and tie off over spot?
Bouy on that anchor so you can throw quick in an
emergency?

We won our local tog tournament Saturday (28 boats) with an 8.8 pound slob I got on a 3/4 ounce jig and 10 pound test braid. Heck of a fight on that light tackle.

We easily had 40 keepers between three guys. Trolling motor makes anchoring so much easier, faster and let’s me really set on the piece I want to fish.

Can’t even imagine how awesome having a spot lock capability would be Tautog Fishing. No wonder you guys won! They should have two categorize, those that anchor and those that push the button.

PS: Not giving you a hard time just jealous.....
