Default Haddock Reports?

Can anyone offer any recent info on where haddock are biting off of Cape Ann? I'll have my boat with me in Rockport this weekend so I could hit Tillies, Jeffries, and/or the north end of Stellwagen.

I was at South Jeffries last week. Fish are deep, 300 ft or deeper. The top of the banks in 150-250 water are a wasteland with a few sculpin on them. There are also a lot of whiting around. If you get into whiting or hake, move a small bit. The haddock are on the outside of the whiting.
I'd hit Tillie and fish the ledges at 250-300 ft, short run from Rockport. Bring shark gear if you enjoy sharkin. There are some scrappy blue sharks around.
If your up for it drop a line at 400+, there are some scattered big haddock there, but the retrieve is awful and you would need 16oz plus weight to get there.

Nice. Any size to them?

Also, were there whales around? My wife might come with me and she'd want to see whales.

We ran into a bunch on Tillies Saturday while drifting for sharks. It made for some great food for friends and family. We also ran into some of those big and fat extinct Cod...LOL

Shark fishing was excellent as well.

You just drop a chum bag to the sea floor? I've never heard of that, work well?

it works well for us. throw 12 to 16oz of weight in a lobster bag and add some cut macks or frozen clams. attach it to the end of a rod and drop it the bottom. if you have a good sounder, you will be able to watch fish come to it.

I can't wait to fill up my freezer with haddock fillets. Unfortunately with a 17' boat out of Plymouth, I have to wait until they get a bit closer in.

What's the earliest you've seen haddock in Cape Cod Bay? Not Stellwagon bank, but off of the Marshfield - Plymouth area? I'm guessing by mid October the water temps would be cold enough?

Heading out sunday, going to give the haddock chumming method a try, Anyone been out recently with a good depth report? If not I'll head back to the 200-220 range
