Default Cape Cod Bay Tuna Talk

Hey All,

Anyone locking into some req tuna in they bay or the backside? I've heard some good things off the backside and Nauset where 60 inch fish are coming in close for pogies. Also heard last week Scituate and Marshfield had tuna in close feeding on pogies. I'm hoping to spend a few days off the backside and/or stellwagen hunting around and at the least drifting some baits deep and on the kite. Blue Edgewater 318 I'll be on channel 69. Thanks in advance.

Steve

We had school of rec tuna inshore off scituate, Sunday. They seem impossible to catch. But i would think anything could happen if the time was put in.

I hooked a 65in off Humarock 2 weeks ago on pogies in 25ft, a friend yesterday was fishing them in 37ft inside ptown harbor and landed a giant, i have broken off 2 comm size fish on the bank in my last 2 trips. Heading towards Chatham down the back tomorrow. Was planning on Atlantis/Block canyon but plans have changed unfortunately

Always a bummer to have to change out of a canyon run. Hopefully East of Chatham brings you luck - I've heard solid things. I've been out twice this year, both times SE corner of stellwagen. No hits this year yet. Hope to make out in the next few days. I feel PTown harbor is always giant territory. Last time I fished it I landed a 107.

Bring it . I've still got the Lamiglas Premiere, Penn 9500 and hopped up L-jacks around here somewhere.

Following.... I'm also looking to get on a Rec sized fish. Hopefully going out Saturday (from Plymouth) and will go wherever-backside/golfball, peaked hill, SWC, SEC, Lanes, etc. Please help! I got spooled on the bank last week. Was fishing a Makaira 80, a Tiagra 50 and a little Accurate BX-2. Guess which rig got hit?

Anyone want to buy three Accurate BX2-50's? Two of them have line on them.
Anyone want to sell me a good Tiagra 80 setup for a decent price?

What I probably WILL NOT do is try to fish for fast moving tuna along the beach, competing with 1,000,000 pogies in a sea of lobster pot lines with 10,000 monster bluefish. Am I wrong in thinking this?

I wouldn’t expect you’ll catch one there but I hooked a giant right out in front of Boston harbor a few days ago.
I didn’t see the fish but nothing else that could be in there can empty a talica 10 in seconds and burn both my thumbs trying to stop it.
Pretty unmistakable run, having felt it many, many times in the past.

For those who are throwing into a school of bunker and not being able to hook anything, find a Strategic Angler bunker mikros. Sinking if you can find it. They have been like crack for tuna lately.

Default NWC or NEC or Middle Bank

Anyone have luck with rec size fish or tried these areas yet? Thinking about trying that area and look for haddock further east as well.

There are rec sized fish on the bank not in huge numbers but I know of a charter that got one yesterday. With giants closed it's a good time to get out there, way less boats and more fish up top.

Lots of bait moving on the surface but not appearing to be under any sort of pressure. Didnt see any tuna, few whales or birds, no marks on screen. Just generally quiet...

To be clear, I didnt see anything but bait, but I did catch a 68" fish. SWC. Up on top, 3 miles or so from the edge.
