Default Block Island marinas/docks: not the standard ones...

Any one have any information/history on Hog Pen or the docks next to hog pen to the left (facing water) kind of next to the maritime institute or the docks/marina to the right of Hog Pen?

Are these private marinas?

Who owns?

Etc

Thanks

Not a lot of information for you, but facing the water to the right of Hog Pen is a marina that I believe is owned by the same folks that are running the BI Bike & Car Rental business there, and I think it's primarily marine repair. Chris Willi at BI Fish Works connected me with someone there when I had a motor issue a couple of years ago.

interesting, i did see a reference to paynes for at least one of the docks in the hog pen area. i believe that hog pen can refer to the general area as well as one dock specifically called "hog pen". so does paynes own all the docks or just the one dock in the pen? is that where they put seasonal boats or its all transients as well?

The Payne family owns the hog pen , slips are rented annually and I'm not sure of the wait. usually its smaller boats in there like big centers or 30 ish covertables

looks like there were some larger boats maybe 40 footers there, i could be wrong though

does maritime institute have a dock with slips they rent? i may just contact them directly and ask.
