Default Closest places to get mahi off cape?

Just wondering some places I could get some mahi? Iím running a 24ft seapro with a single etec out of bass river, but can trailer anywhere. I donít have the gear for the bigger fish so I figured mahi is a good start. Any information would be appreciated

I heard last year was great, but I was still getting used to the new boat, so this year I am heading out further. Do the fingers get any? I want to go after tuna and marlin but I need to get the gear to do so, I only I have one spinning set up for tuna, for now.

Late July and August when the water gets hot is when you want to go and also for a smaller single boat the seas get slicker. Yes the fingers get them by August 1 if we have a warm summer there should be some around Lobster pots South on Nantucket and MV. Bring bait to chum them if you can get very large mummies with a small hook they are mahi crack.

Thanks for the info! I know the seas can get slick in the area for a boat my size, but it will be good to try something new. I already feel that the offshore itch will turn into a 28-30 cc! Hopefully Iíll be able to get a buddy boat for the trip!
