People pay big taxes to be be on the beach/water in a home . Why should you have to share it with the public ?

MA conveys the most rights to property owners legally but also from colonial times is the exception for navigating, fishing and fowling.

In Mass it is quite simple actually.
It's because "People that pay big taxes to have land on the water" do NOT own the water outright, what's in the water, or what's floating on the water.
THEY OWN LAND.

And since People that own houses on the water AND People that travel to the water to take advantage of its resources BOTH have rights to the ocean, the law allows for fair access (with intent and a purpose, and provided they are participating in the activities I outlined above).

People run this stretch of beach in the fall in their 4X4 chasing fish during the fall migration.......have done it myself for years. Never had a problem with a home owner. Run the dog their all fall and winter never had a problem with a home owner. As a matter of fact there was a couple on their deck this spring having coffee and my hunting dog took a monster shit under their deck I apologized, picked it up and had no issues with the owners. They actually commented on how beautiful my lab was and asked if we hunt her.......there is something fishy here

Based on what I read in the Facebook posts, the person with the security guard and who put up the sign bought the property this January. But the guy did get the notice he wanted with the news picking it up

You sound like a stuck up little prick. He was clearly gathering sea weed as indicated by the bag full of seaweed he was asked to drop. Everyone has a cell phone that can record video. My money says if he is below the high water mark he should not have been arrested. Mr home owner should worry about a flash mob making a bigger issue out of it. Mr. homeowner could end up with a knee deep dance party paddle board tourney in front of his house every weekend.

You do not get any more rights than any other citizen because you pay more taxes. You get a nice view but you do not own the property below high water mark.

I never stated you own past the high water line ? I do believe a private beach is just that , not for public use. Most people that own such property would agree . I am surprised that people who feel they have similar rights as a property owners want to harass such owners ? Lack of respect for others seems to be the norm .

Your another guy that is out of his mind. You must be related to Scott. Since when is someone violating owners property rights or harassing property owners when they are below the high water mark.

As you point out, it's quite the opposite. The landowner is harassing someone on public land, trying to lay claim to it. Kind of sad that rich people get to annoy the law into arresting someone and no charges get brought. If this were a poor person, it would be called swatting.

You sound like a jealous little prick, how about I come to your house and walk through your yard picking up acorns, I'd like to see you throw me off.

Again it does not matter if he pays $1 or 10 mil it is the home owners property he can do with it what he sees fit.
