Default Pt. Judith RI Trailer Parking

Heading out to Block Island from Maine for 6 days then end of the month. Hoping to splash in Pt. Judith. Anyone know where I can safely leave truck and trailer? Can you park for extended periods at the Galilee ramp? Better location in the area?

Galilee ramp is good for overnight /extended parking....in all my years using that ramp, never seen anybody get hassled for overnight/extended parking....I would try to get there on off hours/before weekend or holidays

I donít know how extended you can stay there are no signs. The area is pretty safe a fair amount of traffic in the area but they do run out of spaces on weekends. If you get there at 8:00 AM on a Saturday your out of luck for a spot.

I've left my rig there for up to 4 days in the past.

park deep that way you're not taking prime parking for day boaters & less chance for someone to bump, ding your truck / trailer.

When I uses to fish the island a lot we always parked in the lot across from Stone Cove Marina and never had a issue. The ramp at Hanson's is not the best but it gives another option

Couple years ago I went over for a week. Didn’t want to chance coming back to no trailer ( I’ve seen it happen twice in my life, I can’t even imagine the headache) wife found a place that charges what I thought to be reasonable. I don’t remember exactly what they charged but the piece of mind was worth it to me.
Guy has a camera there that you can access with your phone and see your rig. Pretty cool. It’s an Ice cream shop with a small, decent ramp.
I don’t remember the name of it but it shouldn’t be hard to find. It put you right in an easy spot to get across and worked out great for us.

There is a piling in the channel where you launch keep it on Your starboard going out and port coming in. There is a rock on the right side facing out from the ramp. Don’t ask how I know

I think that is the old Kenport Marina across from Matunuck Oyster Bar launched there for years good ramp quick shot to PT Judith channel current rips thru there when potter's pond empties out

If you back your trailer against the railroad tie fence in PT Judith itís going to pretty much require someone steal your truck with the trailer.

You will not be able to park at the old Kenport. The Matunuck Oyster Bar owns it now. And they bought it just for the parking lot as an over flow.

Your best bet is Pt. Judith at the state ramp. I have parked for numerous multi-day trips with no issues. Park in the back with your trailer facing the woods.

There are signs now that say no parking for more than 72 hours or they will tow the truck and trailer.

Last year with no signs I got a phone call from DEM telling me this rule. I had been on the water at block island for about 5-6 days. I said there were no signs... And I've never seen this rule in a handbook.

Now there are signs. I called enforcement and they said we need to find another pay lot and can not park at this lot for more than 3 days.
