Default This weekend!

Sun, low winds and 70s for both days. The low winds is my favorite part!

Every weekend is important now. The summer is gonna fly by. Take what we get and make use of it.

In June? That's a late graduation date.

Really? All the schools in my area graduate this weekend. Even 35 years ago when I graduated it was this weekend.

Thought I was going to get an early jump on the season this year. I moved the boat to the driveway from the backyard while the ground was still frozen and not mud. Business has been crazy and just hasn't let up. Problem is, more work, more capitol I have to lay out and so funds got super tight. Finally got a good size check for one of the bigger projects and ordered the maint parts I need to get the boat in the water. Will take part of next week off and get the boat ready. Oh and the F250 needs exhaust manifolds too. I've got a ways to go still.

Going to the marina as I type this to change the impeller. Then I have two meetings tomorrow!

While it has its benefits, this is the price to pay being self-employed.

Enjoy the weekend and stay safe.

Found it mighty choppy out in Buzzards bay this morning. Was not expecting such a nasty ride through Quick's Hole - heading back into BB from the Sound at about 10:15 this morning solid 4-5 footers heding into BB then a constant 2 sometimes close to 3' chop all the way across to Padanaram. Water over the windshield almost the entire way....No fish for me either......

Got my ass kicked in much the same manner this morning as well. I went through Robinson’s though and then it was a 50 minute slog back to NB. It was cranking a solid 15 out of the NE. Did find this straggler interested in a small bucktail intended for BSB

Glad I took Friday off. Buzzards Bay and Vinyard Sound were FAC. Found plenty of small bass, blues, scup and one fluke. Kept a few black sea bass for dinner.

I was leaving the Sound thru Quicks at a good 18 knots (fast for me) feeling good, boat running great and before I knew what hit me I was in the mouth of BB and hit a solid 4 footer head on. Knocked some sense into me and after the water cleared the deck I bobbed thru the worst of it at about 8 -10 knots. Of course I had left the front hatch open a little to get some air into the cabin. Needless to say everything got soaked as I could not stop to go below to secure it given the conditions. Complacency caught me again.

Spent 2 hours today practicing docking and doing a spin out to the Outer Harbor. Was choppier than I thought in the Harbor, but the boat handled 30 knots without issue. That 27 year old Volvo 740 still has PLENTY of life left

Still have a few gremlins to chase down, hoping to do this with my boat mechanic tomorrow.

The north side of Quicks gets really nasty when its blowing from the NE. Definitely gets your attention, especially in a smaller boat. Glad I spent the day catching up on yard work so I can go Sunday (5-10 SE forecast). Hoping to put some VS fluke in the boat.

We were planning to go out but had kid things get in the way. By 9 up here on the hill it was blowing pretty good so not upset we changed plans until tomorrow. We'll be stayihg in the bay, probably launch out of Bullocks.

Man all last weekend I was moping around, couldn't even see across the harbor half the time because of the fog so I stayed at the dock. And now this weekend I'm away. argh. Oh well.
