That's a lot of fish! Wow! What are they? They don't look like sea trout to me.

They are very good eating as long as you can eat them fresh. They taste better than stripers.

guess it doesn't really answer any questions. Just rolled over while bottom fishing? Think that's my buddy in the CC center of the pic (the upright one)

Back in Mid 80's when I Thought I was a good flounder fisherman.. There were many species available and easy to catch.. Trout (specks and gray) spot, croaker etc , etc.. Including spanish.. Which is why I Started targeting Macs.. Macs were jumping out of the water on ride home from flounder trips.. After several fish fries (cookouts) I noticed people preferred the macs over spot and flounder..
IMHO , now,, spanish are just easier to catch due to greater numbers of them, being available over most others.. Sadly many other species are NOT as easy to find any more, much smaller populations due to lack of their forage base (OMEGA). and purse seine nets. I Couldn't help but wonder yesterday while we were out spotting cobes "how many cobes are being killed by omega over there" (they were in sight)
BTW, back in mid 80's cobia were often called trash fish! Now cobia is the most asked about fish ! (and I feel the best fight in bay) ( spanish the worst fight)

freeze in zip-lock covered in water - burp any air out of bag..

No kidding?! That's exactly how we freeze rainbow trout. When I was a kid, dad used to stick them in a milk carton, fill it up with water, and freeze it. Cool!

On the VHF yesterday we heard a body was found off the High Rise. Not sure if it was related but the CG issued a Pan Pan a couple hours earlier of a sailboat off Buckroe with no one on it. The storms in the morning were no joke and the lower bay was a washing machine. Anyone know what happened?

You heard same as I, but I was told I heard it wrong...??? the other person said it was a boat adrift at hirise and overturned hull at buckroe.. Would be interested to find out and also with the overturned boat behind the 3rd island the other day.. It could help prevent such things!... I sure wish the CG would use civilian lingo, while trying to share with the public! IMHO , their communication with public is poor!

I was standing on the t top so I didn't actually hear it. Just repeating what the 3 people below were telling me.

All I know is Saturday morning was miserable and I wonder if that had something to do with it. We left the dock at 5:15. We were back at the dock at 8:30. Took a hot shower and a nap and headed back out around 11.
