Ended up trailering down Thursday to fish Friday for giants out of Oregon inlet. Hunted a little bit after our intel turned out to be stale but finally found the break and a bunch of boats backing down on fish around 830. Only a matter of time and we got ours, 8 oz blue and white shute with horse bally on the long. Two hours later she was harpooned and tail wrapped. Thanks to sailnbail18 for the inspiration with his successful trip and thanks for fishing with me and helping through the inlet in the dark and engineering a way to get that beast through the transom door haha. 96 inch fish, over 500 lbs most likely but scale wasn't working where we were.

If any of you guys needs an extra person this year offshore let me know. I'm happy to chip in on expenses, have all tackle etc. I'm boatless until I find the new ride.

Default Offshore

I recently downgraded to a 27 foot grady that is offshore ready. I have some offshore experience but its limited. I am looking for a few people that he more than me and would like to fish. I am talking about trolling and I am very interested in learning deep drop places and techniques. I am NOT A CHARTER BOAT CAPTIAN, but like to share expenses. I'm a retired firefighter and like to fish all week.

I just dropped my boat at the dealer today to store for the winter to free up space in my garage for some winter projects. I’ll pick it back up in March. I just mounted my radar last weekend and my outriggers are scheduled for delivery today. Outrigger installation is the first thing on my agenda come March.

Black Friday and New Years sales put a hurting on me but I got all the offshore gear I was wanting.

It’s 52.9 in Norfolk. How would they even know to try that or were they dropping?

Buddy's boat was out for repairs all last season. Back in the water ready to go. Gonna get after it this year to make up for lost time.
