Default White Marlin Open 2018

Just wanted to start a thread so that we can all keep tabs on the happenings of what is considered one of the richest billfish tournaments in the world!

Estimated payouts $5m+??

I will be mating on a 62' Viking out of IRI, with hopes to catch a good one! Who else is fishing??

We will also be on the deck at Atlantic Tackle Friday-Sunday which is considered their busiest three days of the year. If you are in the area stop by and say hi, I will be doing rigging demonstrations both nakeds and baits with Squidnation chuggers/slammers/etc.

Will say hello probably if the weather stays nice. Not participating this year but some of the festivities and meeting vendors can almost be equally exciting.

Good luck to all!

I sympathize - i'm in the same "boat". Leaking head gasket turned into sending the head to machine shop, which turned into a valve job, which pushed reassembly back. Head was finished yesterday and we've got 5 days to get her all back together. I don't feel bad for myself, but for my crew as i know they'll be disappointed if we can't fish.

Looks like I am fishing off of the Hollywood 1, possibly 2 days. My friend's boat won't have the engine repair done in time, so he is switching his entry. Any fishing the WMO is better than no fishing the WMO, and given it's a 26' Reg, would be so sweet to place up against the big boats.

I have a last minute opening for the WMO; $2750 for 3 days fishing. Calcutta's will be: SBW, SBT, SBBF, TUNA BONUS, NON-BILLFISH DOUBLER, DAILY TUNA, MEAT DIVISION. Boat is a 31 Pro Sports with 2017 Twin 300s rigged to the max with top of the line gear and 2 LPs.

Good weather this week. Looking like 3 in a row might happen. This Roffs shot looks like we’re gonna burn some fuel.

Sidelines again this year, with fingers crossed that maybe next year we can play. My favorite week of the year though, love walking the docks and taking it all in!

So if I want to drive to OC this week for the day in time for weigh ins, when and where do I want to be? How's parking?

Parking sucks. You will see a church nearby offering cheap parking. I would recommend that. If you happen to get back into the actual Harbour Island area, getting out will be even worse.
