Do they try to weigh them before heading in or is there a way to weigh them and release if light?

Yep, Jake and the boys hung themselves a big one. I think it holds. Lord knows Jorge is a good guy too.

Fished yesterday and went 4 for 4 on whites, but none big enough to take to the scales. A good day given most boats in our area decided to fish inshore and were stuck in bad green water. Lot of radio bitching going on. I'm stuck working today, but given where the boat is running, and it is very far from home, I am keeping an eye out.

Probably. We were on a 26' Regulator and literally everything in my body hurts today. We only saw 1-2 other boats all day once we were offshore. It was very close period 2-3' with winds in the high teens. Inshore laid down mid-day. Offshore never did.

Always love to hear about small boats fishing the tournament. What is the smallest boat in the tourny this year?

Not sure. We almost had to try it on a 23' Parker. My buddy's 28' Carolina Classic is in the shop but teamed up with the guys on the Regulator last minute. 23' Parker would've been a bitch, but given the conditions most of the week would've been possible. Main reason we went against that was no radar yet, so wouldn't have been able to leave till sunrise and if we hit fog we would be SOL.

Fished it in our 25ft mako. I think I saw one or two other 25's, but nothing smaller.

What was the tie breaker? Leaderboard says 83 and 83. Do they go to ounces?

I have never heard of that rule. pretty crazy. You would assume it would be on time.

Ill say this much, the crew and owner of the underdog were very gracious after the "loss". Both Capt Jake Hiles and Jorge (owner) made FB posts addressing the rule and congratulating Welders Ark. Hell of a thing to do just an hour after being told you did not win. Welders Ark was docked right behind me at Rudees yesterday, if they stop back in Ill have to give them my congratulations along with underdog at the fisherman's center.
