Default Late report 5/25

Sorry for the late report but went deep in poormans last Friday. Caught one dolphin one yft and a short mako on the planer rod. Had a ton of short bites from what looked to be small bft. On the way back saw a ton of life just inside the 30 line near the sausages. Tons of birds whales and turtles. Couldn’t stop to fish because it was getting late and pretty snotty. Sent a friend to that spot the next day and he got covered up in bft to 60lbs. Said all you wanted. Hoping to get out again soon but work and life seem to be making that a challenge. Good luck to anyone headed out this weekend.

Thanks for a great report texson.

I am strongly considering running Saturday but the forecast for thunderstorms has me worried. What are people's thoughts on fishing out of OCMD Saturday?

Cletus,

Take a look at tropicaltidbits.com, the weather models. Looks like most storms and showers will stay over land. This is also what people in OC have been telling me has happened with similar forecasts over the past week. Were going and dodging raindrops.

Thanks, Tom. I figured the worst storms would die out some once they hit the colder water and lose the energy. Just told the crew we're back on. Taking a risk to be sure, but I'm dying to get out there...

Fished from the dog to the sausages all over today, set out next to bft jumping, somehow didn't hook up, got a 30 an hour later, mid afternoon got into a couple low to mid 40s, boxed one and brought the other to the boat. 10 or so falsies scattered in.

Default Anyone need a deckhand

Does anyone need an extra man tomorrow. I was hoping to go out and would be willing to chip in for fuel and bait.

We boxed 2 under bluefins and broke off a bigger one that would have been a shot at an over. 30 fa out ofOCMD. Boxed a few false albacore too for bait. All bites but one bars. Green machine trail bait killed the two tuna. Lost the big fish on a Shute with bally way back. Fog was terrible but seas great and storms never materialized thankfully

Tough day for us, busting tunas and whales all over, beautiful day on the water and zero fish to show for it. Came tight on a very nice one on the wwwwtfb and got the lines cleared right away. Started the turn to gain line as another boat ran it over and chafed us off, so frustrating. Get 'em next time, still beats working.

What a day yesterday at the hot dog. So many breaking fish but couldn’t get any of them to bite. Thankfully, we got a 44lb bft on a wide tracker bar away from the breaking fish.
Took 2 hours to run out because of such thick, awful fog. Run back to OCMD was a little over an hour.

Cant wait to go back!

Fished out of wachapreague started @ lumpy - nothing then to the crotch -nothing then to the east finally a few miles east of the crotch got covered up by false albacore twice. Kept trolling east to 100 fathom went 3 for 3 on yft got straight circled back & got 1 more then got 2 mahi off the balls never saw bluefin on top all day

Most bites were on a blue-white islander tracker
