Rich, over at RH custom rods gave me a great deal on the Avets and also sold me a killer set of unibutt custom rods with calstar blanks.

As far as gear goes, we are hoping to add two of the Sterling Super Jet chains and four of their 18" spreaders (2 machine 2 squid).

Other big additions this year include 8oz crystal/red Joe Shutes for the WWWWWB and a 32oz planer to get em low.

One thing we haven't yet found is a good 12/0 or larger wide gap circle hook for Mr. Mako given the new sharking regulations. Anyone have any leads?

that was a mistake adding the new avets into the mix. by the end of next year your gonna have less money and more avets lol

Any of you guys pull dredges from carbon fiber outriggers? Have these on new boat, hoping to hear if someone uses dredges for marlins often without issues. Mine are the 26’ gemlux

i run a 29 regulator with 22 gemluxes and have not found a need to run from the riggers - use a downrigger and LP s1200 on the gunnel. That said, gemlux claims you can do it and the riggers are super beefy. For me I’d be worried about the torque on my old Lees bases... perhaps with the gemlux bases I’d feel more confident... probably can be done but my dredges run great and clear well run midship that I haven’t pursued it further. Would be interested in your setup if you end up doing it from the riggers

We went to the Washington thinking the water would move north. Was rough ride but should have kept going south. looks like norfolk was the hot ticket.

By next year... I had an HX and an SXJ by the middle of the season...

With the performance of the 50W on the Swordfish we got, a few more of them to be added as well.

Fished the Triangles yesterday. It wasn't a stellar day but did bring home some sea bass! The dogfish and eels were pretty hungry too.
