Went out today. 1 for 2 on bigeye at poormans, lost one at boat. Had two hits that we think were dolphin, but didn't come tight. Got a little snotty, but not a bad day!

I always go by, if the winds from the north add 10-15 knots to what they say. I run a 26 cat and I wouldn’t go.
but 30 years ago when I was in my 20’s the 25’ mako would be there.

Any one looking for (2), not novices but not first mates, to help split cost for a Friday trip? Somewhere near OCMD.

Went out Tuesday to the break above poormans. Went 2 for 3 on a nice class of yellowfins. The bite was first thing in the morning (maybe due to full moon) and was a slow pick after 7. I had lines in at 6:40 and got a triple bite right away and we came up empty as the one that stayed tight got off. The fleet was there (sunset reported Baltimore ha ha) and spread out by mid morning. The winds picked up late morning but not too bad. I picked up at 1 and headed in to the bone to troll bft for 2 hrs. One bite which turned out to be a nice mahi-mahi. Saw a few marks on the SW corner but I wished I would have stopped at the dog where there was more life apparent. I might try again Friday if the forecast gets better...maybe just focus on BFT inshore.

Hey guys... Thanks for sharing the report and glad to hear that you had some bites. I was curious about the depth at the Hambone? Tight Lines

If memory serves me correctly should be around 110-130' pending what part of the lump you are on.

times are changing. haven't heard of a single bft from the usual 20-30 fathom lumps out of wachapreague. it could be that everyone including myself has been running past them to the canyon but surely if they were there someone would have reported 1 by now ???

We saw the same thing. Had lines in at 730, 2 on by 800, back at it by 9 with nothing to show for it from then on out. Sure sounded like it was early, felt lucky to catch the tail end.

Got to the poormans late and dropped lines just before 9 a.m. Not long after getting into the break around 74* we had 2 lines go off. Boated two over 50lb yellows by 10:30. Had one more rat tuna before noon and didn't get touched the rest of the day. Stayed north of the tip, seemed like the fleet was mostly north and out from us.

I'll be out of OCMD Monday morning. Good luck to all that fish. Hope that water holds in, but looks like it might be blending out a little bit in the canyons.
