Saturday 6/9 left out of IRI around 5:30 chasing some slow moving storms so we called an audible and decided to head a bit more north. Ended up finding life about 12 miles west of the tip of the Baltimore. Lines out and started trolling east. About 1 hour in we had a nice bite on a green machine bar in 58 degree water, ended up boating our over bft. He pushed about 47 1/4. This whole time we had dolphins all around us in serious numbers. Also saw lots of pilot whales. Lines back out kept trolling east but as soon as we hit 60 degree water all life turned off. Around 11 we picked up and ran the rest of the way to the tip of the Baltimore where we found some pockets of 59 degree water, trolled for about 45 minutes and had the two flat lines (blue/white and purple/pink islanders jrs) get crushed at the same time, ended up boating our two unders. Packed up and made it back in time for a late lunch.

Default Report 6/8-6/9

i ended up leaving oc 5 am Friday and headed to the Baltimore. Ran across some life inshore stopped for a little and could not scratch anything up. When we got to the Baltimore I started just south of the canyon on the 100 line and immediately got covered up in bluefin. Got both unders right away and went through 16 more looking for an over but not luck. Pushed off shore from there a little and picked up a gaffer dolphin. From there we moved up into the bite of the Baltimore and trolled Into the dark with a huge knockdown on a bar that came off after 5 mins. Trolled a little longer boxing some skippys for the night. We set up drift at night sent two sword baits down and two rods up high for mako. We ended up releasing 2 makos around 70” and had a sword on for a short time till the hook pulled. Next morning back on the troll we catch a few skippys then it’s on again we have a good one on. After the top shot left the reel and we were well into the backing on a 50 we knew it was a big eye. We strapped in and put the heat on him and in about 45 mins we had a beautiful big eye on the boat. After that and being poured on during the fight and seeing the storms moving around we deceived to pack up and head in.

Sat 9th started a little south of the Washington in 50 fathom temp 66 worked that general area till a boat reported some yft in the box to the south in 500 fathoms trolled out but no tuna for us. Ended up with 7 mahi & 1 fat Albert. Most bites on a blue-white islander tracker-ballyhoo. Had a buddy of mine on the boat I haven't seen in 15 years we had a blast. Life is good

6/9 Left iri at 7 am jogged out to the Baltimore, came in at 7pm with 1 eyeball, my 2 unders and 1 over bluefin and 3 yellow fin, on the way in ran through rain and lighting everything bit purple bars and whitey ran off with my left teazer, tried to make the switch with my left flat but just wasn’t fast enough. Down pouring when we got back to the dock no pictures of full hull

Like stated above, we picked up our bft west of the Baltimore, in 58-60 degree water. Tried the tip, in water up to 67 degree, for yft but no luck. Came through some nasty weather on way in, was glad to hit the dock!

Weather is looking really good for next weekend so far. Taking Monday off. Hope to head out deep for 3-days. Wilmington Canyon seems to be the hot ticket...

Fished 6/8 and 6/10.

6/8: Found us below the Balt in 100 fathoms. Went 5/5 on unders and dropped for 5 bluelines before heading in.

6/10: Found us deep in the Wilmington as the water had scattered out of the canyon east and southeast. Slow pick all single bites ended 4/4 all on 30-40 class yellow birds. Ran inside to the 30 line with a lot of life but no love for the hour of effort.

Pics of the catches above and, since I finally hit 10 posts, our over from last weekend. Try again next weekend.

Default 6/9 Baltimore Canyon

Not a lot of life out there but I managed 2 skipjacks and 2 under bluefin tuna. Broke the line on a white marlin too! Beautiful day out there!

looking for a spot on a boat this weekend (VA/NC/MD/DE) if the weather holds as my plans fell through, have seen some folks looking for help recently but haven't been able to make anything connect.

there can be one or two of us looking depending on your needs, both late 20s and experienced on the water. We pay our share, respect your equipment and boat and make sure it is left spotless.

message here or shoot me a text at 571-289-5197, feel free to call but generally i am away from my phone during work 6a-8p

thanks,

alex

Weather is looking really good for this coming weekend. No rain, no wind, and 2 ft waves. I’m planning to head deep Saturday and Sunday... Finally.

I'm thinking about hitting the 30 line on Saturday and maybe catching a little of the OC air show from the water. Most likely going to Poor Man's on Sunday and work my way to the Wilmington. Any pointers on "Hot Spots" would be welcome.

The SST shot this morning looked like the better water was in the Baltimore
