I am going to be a first time tournament goer this this year. I’m definitely going to enter the Flounder Pounder. Great payout for very little entry...

I managed to get out in my kayak for a couple of hours to try for Largemouths.(Northern Neck VA), Soft plastics worked for me today. I hooked up with 4 bass with most following the bait and hitting the lure just before lifting out of the water. All looked healthy and were released. None were measured or weighed but I'll bet 2 were around 5 lbs.

Nice!! The big Whites should be showing up in the Nanny any day now. Keeping an eye out for them. I am in desperate need of soaking some bait......going stir crazy at this point.

Yeah I may fish it for the first time this Summer as well. Need to see if I can get a few more days off though since it runs from Wed-Sun this year.

Nice Yellow perch Jim. I hit my yellow perch spot Sunday. Most of the big mamas seemed to have spawned and were gone. Only got a two over 12”.

Went trolling after a slow light tackle jig bite (mostly dinks and one ~30"). Found this with lines in the water not too long.

Beautiful sight Greg! Hoping they stay in the bay a bit later this year since the temps have remained colder.

For those looking to learn, I am going to be running teaching trolling trips very soon. Went out for a shakedown cruise with a good friend of mine. We dropped six lines and caught this nice 43 inch specimen. After a quick picture, she was released. Water temperature's are still a bit low, but the warm days for the remaining week should push us to the 50* mark.
My first of the season

45 degree surface temperature and very little bait. Slow bite but they are around.

I did some trolling yesterday morning and could not come up with a fish. Water temp in the bay was 48 degrees and despite some bait menhaden in the bay over the weekend was absent yesterday. Also the fish marks are few and far between. It was the first preseason trolling trip I came up empty. Three other friends also came up empty, all of who are very good fishermen including a former mate on charter boat. Did not give me confidence for the weekend
