Other than Facebook and Chris's- anyone have some real life cobia to report? Water looking good for Sat. Looking to get out,I'm sure along with half of Hampton Roads but

Fished Friday out of Rudee down to NC state line in 20-30 feet of water. Saw 30 fish, most of which were paddling north. Caught and released a number of them (jigs and eels) but the big girls over 37" didn't want to eat. I'm sure there's quite a few around the corner and in the Bay at this point.

Are you seeing any cobia on the west side of the bay?

I have not been across (except to look at 31 mako CC)
Heard of some being caught yesterday and today over there. York spit had only 1 boat on it today!
Bay was pretty choppy. Overall sounded like it was not as good of a day as yesterday.

I came in early today just didn't seem right, lots of jerks on radio complaining someone was in " their spot"
cutting thru my slick, etc
I think it was just slow fishing..

Also, pretty sure I heard hey Charlie on the radio yesterday.

I did move to off the second island in the afternoon Thursday, was a nice tide line there on a edge but no sightings.

Only saw 4 today. 2 small ones and a pair of bigger ones that wouldn't eat. Threw eels and bucktails at them and they weren't interested. Did catch and release one of the smaller fish - 35". Also came across a big school of drum and released 2 50" fish. Within a couple miles of York Spit down to Back River Reef is where I saw everything. Went over to the Baltimore and saw nada.

My buddy had only rays/skate yesterday but day before hooked up to 3 large cobia.
they lost them all. (one got off when someone cast braided line over a hooked up fish to a fish following, it rapped around mono a few rapp's and braid always wins, it cut off hook up)
He's out again this morning, hope he does better. ( I don't fish weekends- very often)

We were fishing on the ESVA side Friday and Saturday. Friday was a bust due to wind. Saturday we tried 3 or 4 different spots chumming and cruised the pilings. Saw a half dozen or so, all lock jawed. Caught God knows how many rays and sharks.

Came up with theory why I didn't catch on Saturday (lol). Pressure started to fall because of storm and the fish know before we do. Heading back over there next weekend then finally have vacation for first time in 3 years the following week in obx! Anybody do anything sunday over in hampton? Tips/ how's the bite out of OI?

Fished Thursday and Saturday, chumming. Thursday fished around York Spit, nada. Saturday fished the Bluefish Rock area, also nada. Saturday afternoon, ran out to the ocean side of the 4th, lots of rays. Came across a huge school of reds, got 3 before they disappeared. Talked to another boat out there, he had seen 1 small cobia all day.

Anybody going tomorrow morning? Going to try bluefish rock and hope to catch my limit before the rain shows up. I'll be on 68 Legal Escape.
