We are planning a trip to VA Beach area. Anyone have recommendations on where to stay? Looking for marina not for from beach, has pool and those sorts of amenities.

Only two marinas that come to mind that have pools are Marina Shores Marina in Lynnhaven and East Beach Marina in Little Creek.

Marinas in Rudee Inlet have a beach close....but don't think any have a pool. Marinas in Lynnhaven have pools but a 1/2 mile walk to the beach.

Whatever you find of interest do a google earth search. I know someone looking for the same thing and found Salt Ponds in Hampton........There really isn't a beach there either unless you walk a 1/2 miles down the road.

I wouldn't recommend buckroe Beach either, it has gone down hill in years past.

Your best bet will be Rudee inlet, and staying at one of the Oceanfront Hotels IMO.

Plenty of hotels with pools that are only a short walk from VB Fishing Center or Fisherman's Wharf Marina.

Turtle Cay Resort is nice - one block off the beach, but large rooms (true kitchen, living room, separate bedroom, two bedroom options), nice resort style pool,1/4 mile from the fishing center, and plenty of good restaurants to pick from.

New delta hotel on shore dr looks really nice, on the beach(bayside), keep your boat at long bay point, short walk or they may have a shuttle ,

Depending on when you are going you can get a good rate at The Cavalier. You'd have to arrange travel to/from the marina- but dang that place is sweet
