Default Brand New BF250 White Smoke

So here we go...purchased a 2020 Sea Born Lx24 with a Honda BF250. Absolutely love the boat. A few minor issues but all in all very solid boat. No other way to get into it but about sometime it started smoking, white smoke. Checked the engine pressure it wasnít off the charts, checked the oil, it was fine. It seems to only happen when we are idled or trolling. Or perhaps I just donít notice it when we are running.

Obviously Iím trying to get the dealership to help me here but they are slow to respond.

any thoughts?

Is it smoke or steam? I have a Verado which is known for steam and perfectly normal. My little Etec has a lot of steam come out in colder months.

I'm not really familiar with Zukes.

I wouldn't hit any panic buttons yet . Did you check the obvious - making sure your water pick ups on the lower unit are clear? Do you have a temp and water pressure guage?
My Suzuki (800) does this when it is cooler outside once in awhile

Yeah for sure!

The amount of cash I spent on this boat just pisses me off for it not to be perfect like 2 months into owning it. (Issues with SeaStar unit too that theyíve failed to fix after two visits)

All the gauges are nmea2000 to the simrad and they all appear to be normal. No alarms going off.

Exactly! I mean first few years should be fairly small issues if any. Atleast one would think....

In my last boat I ran Sta Bil 360 on every fill. To be honest I have no run 360 on this most recent tank and Iíve been running it down a bit. I kind of figured getting gas at my normal station on the water (BYC) the ethanol should be non existent.

I wouldn’t get too worked up, you don’t know if you have a problem yet.

Yeah I hear ya. Again just irritated with the issues and complete lack of support from this dealership. I guess my old school mindset of supporting what you sell is just that, an old school thought lol.

I thought thatís what it was at first but it didnít seem to be steam after awhile. I mean wouldnít steam be temporary or at a lower temp? That picture, which isnít the best representation, was taken after we had a fairly decent run yesterday.

Oh it's a Honda. Thought it was a Zuke.

The steam on my outboards is usually worst right after coming off plane. Then it will eventually go away.

I have twin Honda BF225s. Mine are older 2004s. They steam from time to time.

Looks like steam. Wouldnít worry me. Itís a Honda, it will run forever.

But Iím sure putting out a lot of money like you said and plus a few other issues has you worried.
