Interestingly there was a small, "new" richmond show a couple of weeks ago, at the downtown convention center. It was smallish but apparently the show only used 30% of the available floor space. In speaking to some of the exhibitors there, it sounds like many of them are going to abandon the traditional Raceway show next year in favor of the convention center show.

Time will tell.....

I remember a few years ago that same situation happened - small show and a number of problems getting larger boats in and out. The RIR show is usually the largest in the area every year - 3 or so buildings (plus outside) of all types/shapes/sizes of boats. I use to go every year, but have missed the last couple. Not sure if I'm going this year.

There was a smallish(?) one out at Meadow Farm (new Fairgrounds/Doswell) a month or so ago, but I don't think that one has as many boats, and more freshwater related?

I think the RIR location is a GREAT venue - downtown is more of a hassle and you pay the extra for parking.

Have fun!
