Default Fishing the Lower Bay And Beyond 2020

2019 is in the books! Cheers to 2020!!!

With a new baby on the way, life has been a little crazy. I am really looking forward to spring!

I caught some great crappie in December and was lucky enough to end the year with a solid tuna trip down off of Oregon Inlet.

Hauled down to VB for some night fishing. The bite was fantastic, I lost count at 10 but I think I ended up around 30 specks from 17-23". I also lost a bigger one that I won't forget about soon. Most fish were on a Mirrolure 52MPD and a Zoom swimming super fluke. Water temp was 55-56.

Hey there, good morning and Happy New Year Charlie. I did see Paul's new boat; looks very nice. He mentioned that it's docked at Pirate's Cove and he is hoping to do some Bluefin commercial fishing this season.... I'm hoping that I get a chance to ride with him soon. We have been reduced to Brook Trout fishing the mountain streams most recently... Tight Lines

Be Safe if anyone's going out in the lower bay today/tomorrow! Looks crazy out there. Small craft advisory.

I plan on fishing more wrecks this year in my 19ft boat. I put a I pilot trolling motor on hope to be more successful with flounder and try seabass.

What wrecks are you planning on targeting? It'd be nice to try to fish some wrecks on my 18 footer... but I need a trolling motor.

Dun no need for a trolling motor. Learn to use a wreck anchor!

Couldn’t pass up the opportunity today to try out the new togging sticks I got myself for Christmas. Water temp was 49, wind laid down nicely and we scored some blue crab. It was real slow but I managed to put three nice fish up to 21” in the box, a few unders and toads still around too. Happy New Year, probably the last trip for me until spring time rolls around.

Had a good trip on the river.

5 dozen minnows gone in 3 hours. Caught a few on jigs and said let’s get lunch! Outgoing tide was ripping.
