The Shad and Herring are starting to run, the Perch bite is in full swing, the mountain Trout are doing great and there are some Specs in the shallows of the Mobjack and Lynnhaven... it's a beautiful time to be a fisherman in Va... I went after those mountain trout last weekend and got a VA trout slam!

Daffodils are blooming, peepers are peeping, I think Spring is officially here. I'm so ready.

My brother and I ran from Hampton the mouth of the North River early this morning to try to find specks. Water was super clear and conditions appeared perfect, but not a bite. Fished the whole area hard with plastics, gulps, and mirrolures. Only action we saw were the 4-5' sets that were coming off the ocean into Buckroe when we rounded Fort Monroe--I've never seen ocean waves in the bay like that before. It was wild right around the rock pile this morning on the incoming tide.

Thanks. I was planning on running up to that area today but ended up not going on the boat. Hopefully this warmer weather coming this week is here to stay.

Works got me beat working a few jobs, I know last April I was catching tog, and middle of November I was catching tog. Water temp right. Now is 46-47* should be any day now of some reports of tog. If I can get a day off soon I’ll be out there looking.

Hoping to take advantage of the corona virus slow down at work, and sneak out to fish the bay over the next few days. Never fished for taug before, but want to give it a shot - anyone have some pointers as to what to use? Figure'd we'd try to fish the tube and pilings of the CBBT.

Good morning guys... Good to hear of the Blackfish bite getting turned on. Thanks for the reports. Still looking at fishing the skinny water for Spotted Seatrout tomorrow. Wind looks heavier than we would like but at least it's from a favorable direction and may let us get a little time in on the water. Then, perhaps 1 day next week we'll try the CBBT for Tautog. Does anyone know how soon we will be seeing some crabs for sale? Fish On

Crab season started the 17th so should be able to get hands on some blues. I've been catching my own fiddlers and of course green crab got banned
