Default 2020 Chesapeake Fishing Reports

Ok. Who else fish Jan 1st? We caught a few white perch and release a couple yellow perch at the head of an upper eastern shore river. Yellow perch mixed in the mud shad.

The previous ones are mostly MD. There's a separate thread for the lower bay but it hasn't been started yet.

I went fishing yesterday. Anybody feel like starting a 2020 Northern Neck thread or do I have to do it?

Got a smaller boat to get back into skinny water this year. Time for some snakeheads and perch!

I didn’t get many photos yesterday because with a smaller private party of 3 I was able to fish some, but the action continues to be HOT! With the warmer weather and word of the hot bite getting out, the empty waters of last week were full of passionate catch and release anglers. It goes to show how sport fishing is truly about the "catch" and not necessarily the "keep"!

The bite was VERY hot on fat schoolie fish with some bigger ones mixed in yesterday. Once away from the fleet we had half an hour plus drifts on fun butter balls with constant catching. Every drop was a fish.

My son came home with a few of his USMMA classmates who are all finishing up their seamesters in Norfolk. Took them for a boat ride though Annapolis and couldn’t help but jig up a few fish. Go KP, Beat CG.

Greg; Good stuff. I hardly recognize Brennan. He's becoming quite the man.
Sandy must be thrilled to have him home for a while.

Sandy is thrilled to have him home and glad he didnt go into dry dock in China like originally planned.

Bay water is warm and plenty of fish to be caught. We had 44 degrees.
