Default Night Fishing

I have been fishing with a couple of sailors the past couple of months and they depart next Wednesday. I'm trying to fit is one last trip and they may have to work the weekend so Saturday night at 5 we would depart. Going out of NAS Pax. I have never really fished at night but will the trip be productive?. When I have been out at night what fish I do find are on the bottom and wont bite. I experienced this last fall. Would bottom fishing with peeler crabs work for stripped bass? I'd like to put them on something.

I've had Striper luck with Ghost shrimp, live mud suckers and frozen anchovies. Time-of-day (or night) doesn't seem to matter as much as tide and temperature.

Thanks. I'm thinking I might go with a chum bag and I think I can get some frozen anchovies

Its a good thing I could edit my post. Some sites you can't. Tried chunking for the first time. Used cut bunker and some peeler crabs. Crabs did not get a bit but the bunkers did. We caught 6 catfish. After the sun wet down we drifted past boat docks and casted. Not a single bit. Sure wish the stripers were easier to catch. Went to the local bait and tackle and they said a lot of catfish are be caught. Not much else. I sent an email to Greg from Ifishmd and see if he's willing to take me out to learn the bay. It time for me to learn from a professional.
