Word is this will hit the water following the show - it's a customer boat. A beauty, & impressive #'s on paper. 7 Marine guy said a Fountain 38TE rigged w/ twins hit 80, & will cruise at 60.

On paper, what kind of numbers are they anticipating? If a 38' Fountain is hitting 80mph with twin 557's, are they thinking 90mph on the 42' Invincible and trip 557's?

According to him the 38 fountain had quads and they removed them and put twin 7's and it out performed the quad boat by 4mph.
Still would be nice to see a pic of the gps speeds and other performance info.

I was there today and overheard the 7 marine sales guy say 85mph for the 42 INV with trips and 65mph cruise. He also said they are 1,300lbs a motor at 80K a piece.

Remember, higher HP means larger diameter wheels AND higher pitch blades. I ran 32P 15.5in 4 blades with 1.5 gear drives. That Skater reduced gearing to use smaller pitch props and STILL had to run 38P 6 blade props. Low speed planing is a problem though.

I heard they sold six engines to one person (middle east). Some boats have anchors that cost six figures. Sometimes price is not the primary concern.
Supposedly the Fountain was running in the 50's at 3800rpm, but I don't know what props/pitch they were running. I think they are just now finalizing their EPA ratings for the US market, but it looks like they are finally shipping motors.
You could probably run the 33 w/ a single with impressive #'s.

Sounds like 7 is shipping - at least outside the US until they get their EPA certification. Definitely taking orders at the show.
Hector - good to meet you (& the other Hector). Always nice putting a face with the name. Congrats on the review of your boat in SW Sportsman - it was on my kitchen table when I got home.
