Finally found a 2640 that I could live with. Not perfect but a good first big boat. 2002 DC with 2006 135HP Honda's with 240 hours. I also have a problem with my windlass that seemed to work on inspection but first drop it would not come back up. Have not had a chance to trouble shoot it yet but I had to hand pull it up and tie it off. Just wondering what happened to yours that you needed to replace it. And if you made a final decision yet on the replacement yet.

Other than that the biggest issue so far has been trying to replace the bilge pumps deck . Had to replace 4 of 6. But the ones under the deck mid-ship were very difficult. Not much room to work on the bilge pumps and impossible to get to floats. Have you found the same thing on yours or is there better access?

I bought used (2003 with ~ 650 hours on the engines) and did a full survey including the engines. I had to drive up to Hampton, VA and then float her down the ICW to Beaufort, NC which was about a day and a half cruise. I've been very satisfied with the boat other than some minor issues with the engines. She is slow but the flexibility of the platform, storage, comfortable ride and family appeal were all exactly what I was looking for.

    Best of luck!

Hey time to relax, did you go new on the GB or did you find a used one that met your needs? I would really like to pick one up before the summer but so far it seems that either the local boats are pretty beat up or have a lot of hours on the engines. Did you find it on-line or locally? Just trying to pick your brains -and good luck with the boat! Union Break
