Also live in Va. Beach, have a Furuno FCV620 for 5 years and now just bought the GP1870F from BOE Marine in Maryland. I liked the 620 due to the two rotary knobs and the easy to push buttons which have a very deliberate push action. The one thing on this new 1870F are those menu push buttons which to me don't have the same kind of feel as my FCV620 buttons. They seem to be stiffer to push. So at this point, I am not fully sold as to my decision to replace the FCV620 sounder. What is your impression of the push buttons when using your thumb to press down on them. I checked a Lowrance Elite 7 out at West Marine and to me their push buttons were more user friendly as far as press down resistance. I may just go and get the upgraded FCV627 to replace my 620.
