Would you mind sketching this out so I can see if it's something I should do soon? Thanks

Would like your opinion on a gps/sounder unit for my 17' center console. Fishing in SE Florida, mostly inshore with some near shore. Would like to keep the cost around $1K. Units I have considered are Garmin 547xs, Ray. Dragonfly (both 5 &7"), Low. Elite 7HDI
Gold, Furuno 1870....open to other units. Performance and reliability equally important. I am familiar with the Navionics cart. Of the Garmin and the Furuno, which would be comparable or better than the Nav. gold?
Would the "stucture scan" of the Lowrance and Ray. trump the chirp of the Garmin?
    Thanks in advance.

Is B175 "worth it" vs. B75, if mostly less than 100' deep, and much time in 50' or less? Some say the dirty water near Charleston calls for the 1KW?? One way of thinking, I'm just investing in serious electronics and want to get full benefit, so what is another $260?
    Thanks again. Roger

With all of the issues I am reading regarding the software upgrades for the SIMRAD NSS series, is the NSS series a safe purchase? I love the SIMRAD touch technology but do not want to buy new into a an instant technical support issue. Thanks!

Saw a previous post you had. Saw you went with Simrad. Am strongly considering a complete change out from problematic Raymarine to Simrad. What units did you (sounder/plotter/radar) get and which sonar did you choose (chirp). What is the advantage of the NSS interface. Huge thanks!

Hi - thanks for fast response. So are you saying it doesn't matter where the ground is done whether it's on the temp or the XDCR high? There is only 1 bare wire unsheathed. So I would need to chose or the other. The simrad illustration is not clear which to choose.

I was not aware of an impedance change - ugh...

    Thanks again.
