    Thank you for the info, I will defenetly stay away from 300, I'm contemplating g2's now or verado 300. C

    Mine are 2012's with under 350 hours. I went from 300x motors to these, they are about 8 mph slower and only about .2 mpg better at cruise. The Etec's have had both lower units replaced, 1 power head, a wire harness, a gauge, water pressure sending unit, 2 injectors and a trim relay. Even though the etec's have a low water pickup it's nothing like the Sportmaster from Merc. I would go 250 HO over an Etec 300. I was running on tcw3 using penzoil oil but after the power head needed replacing I switched the motors to xd 100 which negated any savings over a 4 stroke.

    Hello, I read some of your posts about 300 cooling issue, I have 31' Sutphen racing hull that I'm replacing twin 300x due to 91 octane fuel not been avaliable on the island of sxm, one of my option is 2011 300 etec's, can you tell me what was your outcome with lower units and cooling and overall option on these 300 motors?
