Forgot to ask - is it a big deal to work with an out of state dealer for buying a boat? Did you have a trade? If so, how did you handle all that? The local guys (Grande) are asking $80k more for the same boat than dealers in N/S Carolina and FL which is why I ask - thx

Ralph - thank you SO much for the detailed reply! This helps ease my mind a lot! If you are ever interested in fishing the Bay with me, I would be happy to take you out as my guest for a day to say thanks the best way I know how! I am not a serious angler - but getting better - email or call if interested (gpac80@comcast.net / 443-603-6269) - CHEERS - George

Sorry, had to break it up. It only allows 1000 characters for 1 post.

The boat will run about 63 light, with only about 30 gallons of fuel. Otherwise full 200 gallons to 3/4 tank she'll run 61 on stock SDS 21's props. The yamaha F300's are quiet and tough as nails. We almost never run that fast and speed isn't what we like but it's there if you have the desire for it. I do wish the boat was actually heavier. Other than that, zero negatives with the 286. We're out of pleasure cove marina. ( Bodkin).

Take care , and look luck with your research.

    Regards,

    Ralph Jr.

We purchased / ordered new in Feb of 2014. Took a couple months to build. We took delivery Late June of 2014 as a 2015 model. We worked with Shane from Palmetto Boat sales in SC. They were fantastic and took care of everything. They offered the best pricing to be honest. They didn't push any current inventory and let us order to spec how we wanted.
We aren't hard core fisherman. We do enjoy throwing a rod in the water a couple times during spring/ fall trophy rock season but 95% of time we're out enjoying the sun and running to lunch at Kentmorr, Sillery bay or stroll down ego alley. The ample seating is what attracted us to the SF as we can still have plenty of people seated in a secure seat, rather then just standing.

    Hey George,
You wont find much love for any SeaFox products here on THT. Seems like this crowd enjoys their top tier boats. Yellowfin, contender etc...
Our 286 has been fantastic to us. In the 300+ or so hours of use, there hasn't been any system failures nor anything else really for that matter that required extra attention. Regular services, cleanings, waxings etc. Boat has performed flawlessly and handles the chesapeake bay chop pretty well. We typically cruise around 32-35 most of the time when conditions allow. If its too rough we simply don't go out but we've been caught in some pretty nasty stuff and still were able to run 15-17 with the tabs fully deployed. You're looking at the 328 and the weight will certainly be on your side out on the bay.

George, I'm interested in your trailer and located in Hampton Va. I'd like to contact Sport Trail to discuss how my 23T Contender would fit on it as it's not adjustable. Can you please shoot me the last 5 of the vin or other identifying info so they can see exactly what they built and advise me on how it would work with my Contender.
    Thanks, Joe ...757-870-6968
