I am a former Marine (1966-70) 0311 so you know I am not very bright. I have tried to get along with really cheap chartplotters/fishfinders, but can neither understand their settings nor read their small screens. I only fish about 30 days a year. I fish near shore out of Murrells Inlet SC or Grand Isle La. I fish wrecks/reefs for flounder and get lost among the channels as often as I can.

Can you recommend a chartplotter/fishfinder that won't cause my wife to have heart failure. I have to admit I have never had a cell phone and am a little slow with a computer. I feel that since I just turned 70 a week ago I am ready to try to conquer a new device. Let me know if you have anything to fit my needs and we will make a deal. Hopefully Steve Fretz 731-645-3949

Headed down to Orlando in a few weeks to go over the build for my new East Cape EvoX. Going to be sticking with Simrad for my electronics. Think I will go with an NSS9 Evo3. Any intel on when we might see another rebate on these or when the Evo4 will come out?

I assume that the price you can get is the same as everybody else except you are offering an extra year of warranty.

    Gil -

Just outfitting a new boat and looking for your recommendation on a transom mounted down/side vu ducer to match up with my 7612xsv factory-installed by WorldCat. I’m in the Hilton Head area area and do mostly bottom fishing at depths between 50 and 200ft at most. The package from WC includes a B150m that I will stick with for now and evaluate.

Looking at purchase at Garmin 1042sxv with a TM51g. Is there a 1k TM that you recommend for this unit for NW fishing for albacore and broom fish? Only bottom fishing in 200 ft except when halibut fishing in 800.

Can you text me what this would cost and if you have them in Stock? What is the price difference if I go to the 12in?

Gil - do you still have the same email address from before? travis.g@sbcglobal.net

I sent an email to that a few days ago. If I have the wrong address please correct me.

Thanks Gill for the help with my new electronics setup! Gill answered all of my endless questions, quickly and had the best prices and warranties anywhere, I have been shopping for over a couple weeks, now I know I don't have to look anywhere else ever again!

Gil, I got my electronics package from you a few years ago and I'm finally ready for a thru-hull. I think I've decided on the B75H. Mostly fishing in the GOM so typically in water under 200' and always searching for bottom detail. I see online that Garmin has a B75H. What is the difference in that and the Airmar? Is garmin just making ducers too? Any quality differences?

What would you suggest for bottom fishing in 150' or less with a 9" screen?

You think that new active imaging transducer is that much better than the totalscan? I'l wanting to upgrade from my go7 with t/s and go to a 9" screen. I wish money wasn't an option but it is. Are the GO9's with active going on sell anytime soon? I appreciate your help!
