    Sorry I hadn't seen your question about the extra bolt for the PP. Mike at Master Repair probably installs as many PP's as anyone. He told me he has seen them shift due to the oblong holes in the bracket. Even damaging cowlings. He drills the extra hole and it will not allow the PP to shift at all. Certainly no downside to doing it. Good luck dude, your boat will be amazing. I absolutely love my boat.

    DWM, thank you so much for the reply. I will take both into high consideration, but will most likely end up with the 300XS. Easier to maintain, besides oil. Thanks again my friend.

    Opti will be lighter and more fuel efficient, but will require expensive DFI oil, so you basically break even. If you are purchasing new, I wouldn't worry about an ECU re-flash since it will void your warranty if Mercury finds out. There is no Mercury produced SportMaster gearcase for the Pro Verado. There may be an aftermarket company, like Bob's Machine Shop, who makes a weld-on nose cone.
