At the inlets, most if not all of the lifts are strap type lifts. Need to watch the strap locations as they can damage your boat. The homes in Tidewater Preserve are very nice. The HOA fees are high but it includes all grass cutting, landscaping, basic cable and I believe water for irrigation. I think we paid around $300/month for all of that. The sound from I-75 is probably the biggest downfall. Same is true for both the Inlets and TWP. At TWP, if the wind was from the west, I-75 was pretty annoying. Wind from the east and you couldn't hear it. It was an amazing difference when the wind shifted. Enjoy.

Hey there. The lock systems are a not really a big deal. It makes it much easier if you have at least 2 people. One person to drive the boat onto the lift or into the straps and another person to operate the lift. The lift in Tidewater Preserve was very similar to a traditional boatlift. It is a bunk style system where you lower the lift into the water, move the boat onto the lift, lift the boat, move the boat horizontally to clear the lock wall and drop it back into the water. It was very tricky doing it by myself. Getting the boat onto the lift and keeping it there while you ran over to the controls was at times a little difficult to manage. With 2 people, I would let the wife out at the dock, she would lower the lift, I would drive the boat onto the lift and hold it there while she lifted it and moved it across the wall. You're technically not supposed to stay in the boat as it's being lifted but I always did.
