    Hey Brad,
I don't believe we have ever met, but see in your sig pic that your tied up at Anchorage. I don't recall seeing your boat there this past year anyway. I am slipped right across the bay from you at Yacht Basin A dock. Right in the middle of the group of Tiaras. She's called Tracy Jo. Just thought it was cool seeing your sig pic and recognizing the area, small world. Your welcome to stop by for a beer anytime.

Hi, Dougout. Sorry for the delay in responding -- been out fishing!

I have twin 250 Zukes. At WOT, the engines are only turning 5100-5200 RPM, so I know the props aren't right for the boat. They've been installed since 2005, though. The previous owner must not have cared too much for the warnings about stress on the lower units...

In addition to the low WOT RPM, I have trouble with blowouts in rough seas and tight turns. I tried a set of 23 pitch Mercury Rev 4's - it helped both those issues, but I didn't like the 'feel' of the props at cruising speed. Far too sensitive to throttle adjustments, IMHO. I'm still looking for the best alternative.

One THT'er recommended the Suzuki 4-blades. He found them far superior to the Rev 4's. I'm looking for a set now - don't know what pitch to get, though.

    Hello ,

I noticed your comment about your 348 and the Suzuki props blowing out. I have a 350 with same issue.
If you don't mind telling me what mercury props you went with, what Hp suzukis you have and what kind of top end RPM you are getting. It would help narrow my search.
I had a 348 before this boat and I loved it as well.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you

I chose to leave the Zukes naked - no decals at all. I like the look and saved money as well! I did see some decal sets on eBay before I decided to leave them bare...

Here's a link to my thread with pictures of the bare naked motors:

I've visited AU many times, but never fished. Have to do that some day!

I noticed that you had stripped the decals of a pair of DF250's. I am about to do the same to repaint the cowling and was wondering where you got your new decals from and how much.
I am in Australia and they are hard to source and extremely expensive.
