hey Dean, for ;me it is the perfect boat. I fish and dive and love it. the trolling motor setup is absolutely worth every penny y9u spend onit. it changes the way you fish. no more battling to stay on a spot while baiting hooks, unhooking fish and all the other stuff.
as for the boat, I do not go out in 6' seas but have been caught out in them. the boat handles fine. no problems and not quirky handling. in typical 2-4' no problem. will it run 50 in them? nope. I have twin 115's on mine and there are days when I can run 35+. most days we cruise around 30. i'm not in a hurry to get anywhere. if you're in the area sometime and want to go for a ride let me know. my schedule is generally flexible. Bill. 850-2 five nine- 3 nine 7 one.

Hello, I see you have a Calcutta in Destin. I previously had a Glacier Bay but unfortunately sold it and I'm looking to get back into a catamaran.
Can you give me some feed back on the boat. How it handles our typical seas and a following and quartering sea?
Does water come in the transom etc.
I mostly bottom fish and would like a trolling motor on it to hold onto spots.
    Thanks, Dean

I'll look at the props when I get home..not sure but they are stainless. I'll be home tomorrow ( Thursday) and let you know ASAP. I love my boat and Steve and his crew are great. I really haven't kept track of my fuel but I'll see if I can get some numbers.

Hello - I'm Jeff Caston - have a Calcutta 263 with teh 115 Yamaha engines.
I am absolutly satisfied with teh boat but have been working to get my boat consumption and speed statistics up.
What props are you using - I've got 19 x 13 original with motors and 17 X 13.25 purchased from Steve - get more speed with the former but better mileage with teh 17" pitch - just interested in your experience

We live in Panama and cant stop going out in teh boat - perfect for what we do.

Hey Bill, It's been s tough bite. The triggerfish have multiplied exponentially it feels like. I try and fish west whenever possible and although it's been slow, we have been getting our snapper. I don't think the red tide has affected west yet.
