On my current 2015 42 I have the 3kw genny, batteries, battery switches, battery chargers under the leaning post. With the new boat I am getting the 7.1 Genny and a insulating box over it, plus putting sound dampening material/insulation around the exhaust hose to quiet the genny.

For the custom leaning post I am adding about 2' to the depth of the leaning post-- from the back of the helm seats to the rear facing seats. This will create more room under the helm seats for systems, the larger genny, and allow for the rear facing seats to be slightly angled towards the bow so when you are running passengers are planted better in their seats. It also enables large plano tackle boxes to be put behind the back cushion on the rear facing seat to create a tackle station. The back cushion on the rear facing seat will open down creating a rigging table and access to all the large plano boxes. It also enables storage room on the sides for tilt out trash can and other storage items.

Hi, I've got a YF36 and put a deposit on a 42. I was curious what custom options you did to the leaning post, I'm planning on getting the Seakeeper option as well. You mentioned something about quieter GEN?

Did you end up building a YF 42? If so what are basic specs and performance numbers, mine should be ready in matter of weeks

Griffin, I am now maybe in the same spot you were in a year ago or so. Thinking of stepping up. Read most of the threads. Looking at SH 41 or 45 or YF 42. Would be looking at full tower. if you don't mind spending a few minutes, would love to hear why you chose the YF and if you have any regrets or anything you would change, and what the real performance metrics are with the tower, etc. Thank you so much for all of your postings. And I LOVE your new girl, congratulations. I too have 4 kids by the way, three boys, one girl, little younger than you guys at between 11 and 7, so will soon be with the friends, etc. and full boat, use it the same way you do it seems. Go offshore out of Montauk, but live in CT so also cruise the sound. Need speed to get me up and out around Montauk and out to canyon, and can run at top speed while protected in the sound for sure, so really do want that speed. When hit the ocean, may need to slow it down a bit, but long trip for us.

I had a local guy do it. Got the digital logo and decals from Venture right after they went under in 2010.

Can you tell me who did your cushions and combing pads on your venture and where you got the venture sticker on your console? Thanks, I have a 2001 with the same engines and hours as yours

Shimano Stella 8000 on a 5' jigging rod is my favorite (but expensive ...$1200 set up). Also hot a Jigging Master conventional reel -- it's beautiful.

Gr1ffin, I was digging through some old THT posts and came across your quest for a lightweight grouper reel. What did you end up going with? I am most interested in the AVET SX Raptor but am looking at comparable 2 speeds. Thanks!
