Hi Rod, mine is a 2013 with ttop and 150 mercury 4 stroke. It is pretty dry and handles well. I fish the Chesapeake bay regularly but have to pick the right day. I owned a 23 Maycraft with bracket and 200 Optimax years ago and the chawk is drier. It has a lot more bow flare, deeper v, and a 14 degree dead rise. It could benefit from trim tabs which I have not installed yet. It is a bay boat and not really an offshore boat. The gunnels are 20 inches at the rear so it's not real deep. Interestingly, Carolina Skiff was on my short list but this was a more capable boat for similar money. Also, IMO the 150hp motor is plenty. Two people and full fuel it will hit 41/42mph on the GPS. Not bad and pretty efficient.

Overall I'm happy. If I were to change a few things I would raise the gunnel height and manufacture it without wood.

Hi There....I saw in an older thread that you have a CHawk 23 CC? What year is yours? How do you like it? Is it a wet ride at all?

I am coming from a 23 Carolina Skiff, so anything is going to be a softer ride than what I currently have, but I would like something that rides well, and isn't going to get me soaking wet. Any kind of review you can give on how it rides, drawbacks, strengths, etc..would be awesome!

    Thanks so much!
    Rod
