No real issues 2'or less will be fine cruising /fishing will handle it well. Bilge area is very tight, boat is good at most things . I have some things I am not 100% happy with.
-To me shifting/throttles are stiff sometimes (for me) backing in can be a problem shifting from fwd to rev and the opposite, sometimes tricky to find neutral. replaced all cables last season with very little improvement. Investigating rerouting cables, seems like too many bends.
-- Fuel filling on my boat is atrocious, if is more than a dribble it backs up. Heard of this problem on another 290, Wellcraft has changed the venting on newer models. Ive checked fill and vent lines for blockage and found none , will look into changing vent.
Cabin is dry no problem with wood.

The boat is a 2006 with F250 Yamahas

I am considering a WC 290 Coastal, and was hoping you could provide some feedback on your experience. Good/bad/ugly.

Looking for 50/50 split, fishing/cruising out of the GOM. I'm typically out when it's 2 ft or less, and the cruising would be intercostal. I understand there's no wood in the hull/stringers, but the salesman said there is wood on panels within the cabin. Have you had any issues, and are you able to share real world performance numbers? I am very grateful for any assistance.
