Nice to meet ya Mike. I think the fellow I'm fishing with knows Michael Lodge well and is getting info from him as well. Thank you for being open and honest, hard to find these days. We are ordering a roff's report today hope for some more good info. Again, I will return the favor by giving you a report and maybe the blue water fishing will turn around soon. Or we are just gunna have to pony up and head way west to the rigs for some tuna action. Have a good weekend and good luck.

I just checked ripcharts, it looks like the 40 break is still dirty. the buoy is sitting right on the edge of the color change. The spur is still dirty all the way through the south end. With light S & SW winds all week the buoy might be good by the weekend. Last time I was there there was literally zero life around it.

The offshore fishing has been terrible this year. Everyone I know is getting pretty depressed. I'm 31 and have basically been doing it since birth and its the worst I've ever seen.

My name is Mike Chavez Jr. I live in Tallahassee. I fish with Michael Lodge on his boat, Bluewater Predator for most tournaments.

I am not planning to fish it. I don't fish out of MB often. Usually just for the MBARA tournament.

My last trip out was a couple weeks ago on the full moon. We fished the twin ridges area out to the weather buoy (the south buoy is gone now). The buoy looked like it was in good water on the last look we could get before it stormed for a few days. Water looked like motor oil out there. It was nasty brown all over the 40 break too. Lots of scattered grass from the storms.

I know of 2 boats that went last weekend. One fished the edges NW of the Steamboat. They caught 1 weehoo. The other boat started at the buoy and had nasty water. They ended up on a very nice weedline in good water about 15-20 south of there. They only had 1 small dolphin and a blackfin though.
