    Hi David,

Sorry to only see this now...for what you're talking about, I'd probably go with the etec, but it also depends on what you have for rigging now...that's a hidden cost if you're switching brands!

Mind if I ask a few questions about your 22' Whaler? My name is David and I'm in Az. We have a 22' Outrage that our Yacht Club uses for setting up a sailboat course. 1991 with an old 250 HP 2 - Stroke that's down and not repairable.

I'm working with a few guys in our club that own boat service shops in Phoenix and we've honed in on a 225 hp Tohatsu (Honda re-labeled from what I understand) and a 175 HP E-Tec that they can purchase/service. Pricing is darn close on the two.

I see you run the Honda 225. Any advice on the 2 motors we're looking at? It's used in fresh water and the boat is trailered. It only operates about 2 miles from the launch ramp, so top speed is not too important, and it typically is hauling 2 adults and ground tackle for the racing buoys.

    I'd appreciate your thoughts!

    Thanks,

    David
