I am reviving an old thread discussing rods for a Avet 5.3 SXJ MC. I am picking up two gold ones this weekend and wondered what type of rod you suggested for the reel. I plan to mainly use it for casting for mahi, cobia, drum, etc., with occasional light trolling for blues/spanish/mahi.

I was looking into purchase some st.croix premier 7 footers but wanted to reach out to you first and see what you recommended / had for sale?

Please feel free to text if that easier 919-820-5903.

    Thank you,

If you are using spinning reels I would suggest our Sailfish Spin 15-50. That would handle those reels just fine. These rods are $139 and I have them in 7' and 6'6".

Hey Bryan I looking or suggestions for a rod that not to expensive to use for a couple heavier reels we will take to the big bend area to use for either pulling lures for grouper or flat lining bait for sharks when things are slow. I have penn battle 6000 and a Spheros 10000 reels to use. Thanks, Mike.
