    Hello C. Edmund,

Just wanted to say thanks again for your feedback regarding this post:

Just by-the-by, how have you found the wake comparison between the Nautique and your X-14?

JB, sounds like you are right on the money as far as what I am looking for. As far as species, I am hoping over time to develop the locations and abilities and acquire the equipment to go after the seasonal bite wherever it is -- from blues and spanish right off shore to finding the dolphin when they are just 10-15 miles off this season to eventually feeling comfortable running to the stream.

Also, I need to learn more about what can be had where.

As for the gulf, an Ocean 48 is a great boat, but it is not a Hatt when you're talking 4 footers or higher for a long ride. (then again, I use less fuel and have less panic at low tide with a much shallower draft than a Hatt, so it's all a compromise).

Let's stay in touch. FYI boat is at Sea Gate.

C Edmund, hi. If you haven't had any takers on your fishing offer, my buddy and I may take you up on it, assuming you're talking an offshore trolling trip. That's what we normally do.

Sounds as if you just need someone who has been fishing out of Morehead a good while that can show you the ropes in exchange for a free ride. My buddy and I both have boats, he has diesels and I have outboards, but I think a change of pace would be interesting.

Both of us have more than enough rods/reels and gear (matter of fact, his boat name is 'Too Many Reels'). All in good shape. So if you don't have the equipment, we can bring it. What species would you be targeting?

Just let me know if any interest.
