    Hello 2 dogs,

My name is Robert. I am not a regular on this forum but do use it from time to time to get ideas - it has served me very well in that regard. I ran across your profile doing while searching for ideas on my Maycraft 1900. Do you still have that boat? I need to install a second battery and debating on whether to do it myself or pay to have it done. I'm a do it yourself kind of person and have built lots of stuff but not much wiring. I'm comfortable with wood and fiberglass but electronics intimidate me. I have also seen various opinions on installing one or both batteries in the console vs. the starboard compartment. As I move forward I would like to ask you some more specific questions, if you don't mind.

By the way, I live on the Gulf Coast near Mobile, AL. Where are you in NJ? I'm not very familiar with you state, but a good friend of mine is up there doing bobwhite quail research in the pine barrens.

    Thanks,

    Robert

Yellow is NMEA in. Orange is NMEA out. Blue, Green and shield went to ground. Ground is ground doesn't matter where you connect it. I ran a ground wire to my ground block.
    GPS yellow to Icom Red
    GPS orange to Icom white

I realize it was over a year ago that you hooked up your HDS to you Icom 422 but I was wondering if you remembered where you landed the blue, green, and bare wires from the HDS? Did you hook them to the ground on the back of the icom or to a ground on the boat?
