Default Advise on GPS fish finder

I have a Furuno 1870f gps fish finder with a Airmar TM260 transducer. The processor is so slow it's agonizing to change screens. The sonar works ok at 400ft, but after that it's very irradiate. The charts is very difficult to use. I want get a new unit that's more user friendly and bigger screen. Does the new 1971 Furuno have a faster processer or should I go with Simrad, Raymarine, or Garmin? Will my TM260 transducer work with the other brands? I have a Raymarine Evolution Auto pilot that I need to connect to the unit.

Thanks,
Tom

I think any of those brands will be a significant improvement from what is in the boat currently. The transducer may be able to be cut and spliced into a newer unit depending on what brand you choose and what Airmar says is compatible with that transducer based off the PN# on it. There is really no right or wrong answer on what unit is the best as it really comes down to personal opinion. I would recommend trying to get some hands on experience on some of the units your interested in to see which one you gravitate to.
