Default Garmin 7610xvs and Flir night vision

I have a garmin 7610 XVS w/ a garmin HD 18 radar and Flir night vision set up on my boat. The I am able to have the radar over lay on my GPS mapping or have them in a split screen display. I can also view the night vision, but only by itself. Is it possible to have the screen split to show half with the radar overlay on the GPS and the other half with the night vision?

Thanks in advance,
Damian

You should just be able to create a custom combination page with raday overlay on one side and the Flir on the other. Just go to your combination page and press menu. Then add a combination with the pages of your choice.

For some reason it’s not allowing me to view the night vision on a split screen only by its self. Hmmm. I can create create other combos without any problems. Just not this one. Thanks for the response.

I’m running a 38 Jupiter this summer and we’re thinking of installing Flir MD625. It has one new Garmin unit, I think 16”. I have read a few mixed things so I just wanted to clarify it. Will it run on a split screen without a problem? I have heard some installing a Raymarine Axiom for the object avoidance. Does that make sense or will one screen work ok?

Also does this camera work in pea soup fog or are these only intended for night use?

I personally like to have my charts and radar on one display and have a second sometimes smaller display for running sonar or Flir images. Its really personal preference but I've gotten used to having an independent Chart/Radar screen and using a second display for other accessories. I am pretty sure you can create a combination screen with the Flir on a split screen but Garmin would be a good source to confirm this just in case I'm mistaken. The thermal cameras will see through fog but it will definitely limit the visibility of the camera depending on how dense the fog is. Radar would be a better bet for running fog in my opinion.

OK thanks. Does the FLIR just plug and play with the Garmin? I have read there is some issues with the compatibility but there was a work around.
