Default Transducer problems. "Unsupported Transducer Connected"

I just installed a Transducer model # 010-12402-10 GT15M-TM and a Garmin 942xs GPS Model #17984659 to my boat. This is the transducer Garmin says is compatible with the unit but when I power up the GPS it says "Unsupported Transducer Connected".

Can anyone tell me what the issue may be?

Check to see if you're running the latest software version. You may need to update.

Maybe late to this thread...but....I had same issue. Mine was with a Garmin Echomap 74SV with chirp. Tech went through a few things with me and kept talking about a "cradle". Told him mine was mounted in a gimbal, not a cradle......well he schooled me on that. I took my 74SV out of the gimbal mount and saw a lip sticking up.....pulled up on it and the whole back cable mount portion came off. Well I'll be d...m....d, never knew that. Reseated my unit into the "cradle", powered it up again and it is back to working perfect. Had no relation to any software update, low voltage issue, or anything else. Simply needed better contact with the "cradle".

Funny, I've been having the same issue my with 8612xsv in regards to reading my Panoptix GLS10, very sporadic but it will give me the same unsupported transducer message, disconnecting the power to the black box seems fix the issue after a minute or 2. The GT51M however has been flawless

Most recent update did nothing for the issue

My Garmin 840xs has the latest software and sometimes I have to power it off and on a few times to get rid of the unsupported message and then the transducer works perfectly.
Annoying.

Wow, hoping that was a warranty replacement.
