Default Lowrance Fuel Flow Setup With Twin Outboards

I'm about to install 2 Lowrance fuel flow senders to an existing N2K network. Have twin Hondas, (pre N2K) a single fuel tank and a Simrad NSS12, (no LMF gauge).
When you go through the setup on the MFD, how does it know which engine, (sender) is which? I briefly read over the install manual and it looks like you can name the senders, (device) is this correct? Can you name them port/starboard? Do you need to run each engine to activate, or identify each sender?

Honda's are 2005. No network to engines. NSS12 is first gen.
